SMKN 61 Jakarta Re-implements Distance Learning System

The State Vocational High School (SMKN) 61 Jakarta, Jalan Pantai Sekolah No. 1, Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands has re-implemented distance learning system (PJJ) after two students living in school dormitory were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Anticipating COVID-19 transmission, school building is temporarily closed, school dormitory is emptied, and learning activities are carried out remotely

Thousand Islands Education Sub-agency's Administration Head, Arizal stated, the school building has been closed temporarily from February 8 to 14 following the recommendation of the South Thousand Islands Health Center. His side also carried out tracing on students living in a school dormitory and the results were negative. Therefore, the students were sent back to their respective homes.

"Anticipating COVID-19 transmission, the school building is temporarily closed, school dormitory is emptied, and learning activities are carried out remotely," he said, Tuesday (2/8).

Jakarta Implements 50 Percent PTM Starting Today

During the closure, all rooms ad school areas including the dormitory would be sterilized and disinfected.

"Health protocols shouldn't be ignored, even though students have been vaccinated. Health protocols supporting facilities must be also provided," he asserted.

Following up on the Circular Letter of Jakarta Education Agency Head No. 9/SE/2022 on the Discretionary Implementation of the Joint Ministerial Decree of Four Ministers on Learning Activities Guidelines during COVID-19 Pandemic, Thousand Islands has imposed face-to-face learning activities (PTM) by 50 percent in all schools at all levels.  

"It has been implemented since February 4, 2022. So, we hope the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 can be prevented," he mentioned.
